Hi, I have a 68 2.0l ST line hatch. the outside temperature shows a consistent 10deg even though it’s been freezing. asked on a FB page where it - the sensor - was located and got told it was behind front bumper on the offside! got a new sensor from fords, only £5, set about removing the bumper only to find out there
July 2013. The outside Temp. sensor on my Equinox LT 2008 has gone hay wire. It worked well for 4 1/2 years nut now it sows the right temp when you first start the car. But while driving, the temperature starts to rise and goes up to 45C then starts to drop and goes down to about 15 degrees even though the outside temperature is only 27C.
Jul 12, 2013 · Don't compare the temp with an app. Use a thermometer known to be accurate. The temp seems to jump in 2 degree increments at times. The refresh rate is also very slow. If it's more than 5 degrees off and it wasn't parked, there may be an issue with the sensor. These are just not great systems also.

May 24, 2018 · Hi @amida. I can't alter my comment now because it was made too long ago to edit, but the meter I was referring to was the car's temperature gauge. If you disconnect the lead from the coolant temp sensor in the engine and then use an Ohmmeter to measure the resistance between the sensor's connection point and earth on a hot engine it should read 30-50 Ohms.

Recently I have experienced a odd probelm where for the first 5-10 miles of any journey the temperature gauge and climate control behave oddly: Firstly the temp gauge climbs to the normal position as usual.
Jun 29, 2011 · Since the car was new to me, I reckoned the 'outside air temp. sensor' might be missing. Looking at the underside of the car (from a pit) there was a loose plug hanging down near the underside of the screenwasher reservoir. Ford quoted me £60 for a new sensor, but when it turned up, it was not the right one.

Mar 7, 2022 · Update - After I wrote the post, gathered a 10mm wrench and disconnected the positive off the battery. Waited 5 minutes and reconnected. Started the car and let it idle for a few minutes. Reset the clock and audio settings. Drove down the road and the temperature reading immediately recovered. Showing the right temperature.
Jan 8, 2018 · Low temp problem. first off, I have a 2007 Ford Focus with a 2.0L Duratec and 5 speed manual tranny. I recently changed the temp sensor when the CEL gave me a trouble code for it (I think it was P0128). The temp gauge always held steady at dead center once the motor warmed up, but lately the motor ran rough and the gas mileage was bad.

In the Mondeo, it is in the head - this is so the ECU monitors the actual head temprature for the correct fuel- air mixture, it also means if the coolant runs dry it will protect the engine from overheating. so there is not actually a coolant temp sensor - but a head temp sensor. Most modern Fords are the same.

Jul 28, 2013 · A couple of days ago I discovered that air-conditon only works on driver side. When controls set on low, passenger side only blows outside temperature - not air con. Tried everything else - warm, cold, up, down etc - everything works fine. I have these ventilation controls: Anybode else who experienced this problem?
